Posture, Pressure & Performance featuring the XSensor Foresite SS Pressure Imaging System

Take your clinical assessments beyond observation and into measurable insight. Power Mobility is pleased to present this brand new pressure mapping workshop, in partnership with Glide Products.

In this session, Power Mobility introduces the XSensor Foresite SS Pressure Imaging System — a powerful tool now available to support wheelchair and seating assessments. By capturing real-time pressure data, therapists can strengthen clinical reasoning, support documentation, and confidently justify equipment choices.

This workshop is designed to bridge the gap between what you see and what is actually happening at the interface between the body and support surfaces – helping you deliver better outcomes for your clients.

What You’ll Learn

1. Understanding the Challenges: Body vs Surface
Explore the complex interaction between the body and contact surfaces, including:

  • Mechanical loading of tissues
  • Key pressure injury risk factors
  • Clinical hypotheses: ischaemia, tissue deformation and reperfusion.

2. Forces & Influences in Seating
Build your biomechanical knowledge with practical insights into:

  • Types of forces and their impact on the body
  • Cushion characteristics and their clinical implications
  • Pelvic loading zones and the concept of ‘ideal’ positioning.

3. From Theory to Prescription: Clinical Guidelines
Translate knowledge into action with guidance on:

  • Cushion selection and setup
  • Supporting posture without compromising function
  • Balancing pressure management with performance outcomes.

Seeing What Matters: Pressure Mapping in Practice

Using live demonstrations of the XSensor system, we’ll explore how pressure mapping can reveal:

  • Kyphotic postures – identifying patterns, causes and risks
  • Asymmetrical postures – understanding loading differences and clinical implications.

Turning Data into Decisions

Learn how to apply pressure mapping insights to real-world interventions:

  • Adjusting for kyphotic tendencies
  • Managing asymmetrical loading
  • Using objective data to guide trials, track outcomes, and support funding submissions.

Why Attend?

This session offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Enhance your MAT assessment skills with objective data
  • Build confidence in clinical decision-making
  • Strengthen documentation and funding justification
  • Gain hands-on experience with leading assistive technology.
