How To Take The Pressure Off With Dynamic Seating Solutions

On Wednesday, 20 November, Power Mobility held another highly informative Professional Development Education Day, with over 20 therapists attending.

The presentation, Dynamic Wheelchair Prescription for Function & Independence, was conducted by Russ Rolt, Director of Sales, PDG Mobility (US & International) and Lauren Hunter (OT Clinical Educator for Linds Rehab).

Prior to the therapist session, the Power Mobility sales team also attended an education session to learn about the innovative range of PDG Mobility products. Then, after lunch, the 3-hour education session for therapists got underway.

The first part of the therapist session covered the clinical side of why and when you should prescribe certain chairs, seating set-ups and functions to make life more ‘liveable’ for clients. Following this, therapists were introduced to the product range and guided through how to apply clinical knowledge to help determine which product would be most suitable in each individual client’s situation.

“The therapists were very impressed with the entire PDG product range, especially the Elevation, as they had never seen anything like this before,” said Power Mobility Territory Manager, Paul Hadfield. “They were also shown how the tilting mechanism works and thought that this would be a very useful function for many clients.”

“No matter how long you’ve been in the industry, there’s always something new to learn – whether it’s a different way to approach seating and positioning, or innovative products that have just come onto the market.”

“Most therapists are time poor, so sessions like this are a great way for them to learn about new products efficiently, in a hands-on environment with the product experts available to answer any queries they may have,” Paul explained.
